Ingredient Insight - Oat Oil
Oat (Avena Sativa) oil is extracted from the whole, ripe oat kernel. It has a higher antioxidant content than any other major oilseed or grain except wheatgerm [1] being particularly high in various types of Vitamin E. So it has good regenerative as well as antioxidant properties.
Oatmeal has a long history of use in skin care as a remedy for dry, itchy skin conditions, inflammation and skin conditioning, and oat oil shares many of the same properties. It is an excellent skin softener, smoothes rough skin, and moisturises well, penetrating the epidermis for deeper moisturisation [1].
For a more in-depth description about the uses and history of oats in skincare take a look at this article.
And look out for our brand new lip balm range made with oat oil, coming soon.

Artistic Soap - Soap Cakes
I love cake and I love soap so this was inevitable! Today it's all about soaps that look like cakes. So without any further ado, here are a few of my favourites:

Well, all this looking at cake (even in soapy form) has made me hungry. I'm off to raid the biscuit barrel and have a cup of tea :)
