| Incredible Year Business Workbook |
As part of my action plan to get more done this year I got myself a copy of the Incredible Year Business Workbook and Planner by Leonie Dawson. It's a very simple notion - review the previous year, then plan ahead for the coming year - but it's great to have the steps laid out for you. In setting your goals for the coming year Leonie encourages you to DREAM BIG and write down exactly what you would like to get out of the year. That's what I spent yesterday morning doing and I have to say it was liberating. I had to stop myself several times from scaling back my hopes because they were too big or too unrealistic. Once I got over that I was amazed by how many ideas I had for taking the business forward. When you approach things from a position of what's possible rather than what's not possible your field of vision opens right up and you start to notice things that you otherwise would have missed. After all if you aim for the moon you'll get a lot further than if you aim for the bottom of the garden, right?
Do you dare to dream? Try it. Write down everything you would like to do or achieve this year, no matter how big or small, whether it's business/career-related or personal. Leonie is (and so am I) a great believer in that if something is written down it's more likely to get done. Keep the list somewhere you can refer to it from time to time, and see what happens...
